#GIA60 Campaign - (III) Case Study - Motor Claim

This was a very unfortunate case of a third-party cyclist who had been severely injured after a collision with our insured's vehicle.
The insured was very cooperative throughout the investigations and rendered assistance by providing useful statements on the issue of liability.
The cyclist suffered a traumatic brain injury and was permanently incapacitated. He filed a claim in the High Court against the insured for substantial damages.
We were very mindful of the fact that protracted legal proceedings will cause unnecessary stress to the insured as well.
We successfully mediated a reasonable sum for damages directly with the Claimant's lawyers. The insured was pleased and mentioned that he was grateful that his motor insurer was able to settle the matter expeditiously which eased his conscience as he was very troubled by the fact that his negligent act had caused a life changing injury to the victim.
